  • Some examples of students work from the Salmon Watch Program. Diagrams of the salmon life cycle and riparian cross sections viewed at McGregor Park by Lost Creek Lake.

Thanks to the Army Corps of Engineers, and instructors from Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, The Freshwater Trust, Rogue Riverkeeper, Rogue Valley Sewer Services, The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, City of Rogue River, our volunteers, and the Rogue Valley Council of Governments.
  • #salmonwatch season is in full swing and the #streamsmartrogue partners have taught several hundred local students about our home watersheds and our iconic fish. #watershededucation #roguebasin #chinooksalmon #falloutdoorfun
  • Amazing full span #beaverdam on Bear Creek in Phoenix backing up water over 100’ upstream providing moisture to riparian plants and making a deep pool of cool water. #beaverbeliever #streamsmartrogue
  • After the September fires in the Bear Creek watershed, agencies and NGOs coordinated to seed burned streambanks to reduce erosion and sediment runoff. Now all that “Hoody Barley” is mature and will add organic matter and hopefully we can keep invasive blackberries down and allow native plants to regenerate and restore the vital riparian areas.
  • Been checking out some constructed wetlands in Eagle Point and Talent. These facilities were constructed to accept stormwater and treat it using detention and biological activities before it heads to a stream. The yellow seep monkeyflower is a common native plant in wet areas. #wetlands #stormwater #jacksoncountyoregon #cleanerwaterstartshere #erythrantheguttata
  • Well it’s a beautiful spring and plantings like native red-flowering currant are enjoying the sun BUT we will be hurting for water this summer. 😩🥲☹️ #gonative

  • The field season is here and sampling streams and outfalls flowing into streams helps us understand local watershed health. #waterqualitymonitoring #talentoregon #bearcreek #wagnercreek #ecoli #streamsmartrogue #fieldscientist #sciencematters
  • A wetland constructed to protect water quality is getting planted this week in a facility behind the Phoenix, OR Civic Center. #stormwatermanagement #stormwater #wetlands #greeninfrastructure #phoenixoregon #publicworks
