The Jackson + Josephine Counties Cooperative Weed Management Area (JaJo CWMA) is currently building a network of Rogue River partners focused on preventing the uncontrolled spread of aquatic invasive weeds. The network was established in early 2024 and focused on containing, controlling, and reducing the overall spread (fragment load) of ludwigia and parrotfeather on and into the Rogue River. In 2025, the species of concern list will expand to include golden mussels, quagga mussels, and Zebra mussels, though ludwigia and parrot feather will remain the network’s primary focus. You can find resources for identifying many invasive species on our Invasives page.

Goals Driving Our Good Work!
- Contain, control, and reduce the overall spread (fragment load) of ludwigia and parrotfeather on and into the Rogue River.
- Continue river surveys conducted by R.A.I.N partners to detect any new patches of ludwigia and parrotfeather.
- Further develop R.A.I.N's outreach and education, as well as grow the partnership by inviting additional members of the rafting community, and members from the fishing community, to join.
Work Zones
Partners will be targeting four identified treatment zones:
- Zone 1: Rogue River, Wild Section (Grave Creek to Mule Creek Canyon)
- Zone 2: Rogue River, downstream portion of the Recreation Section (Hog Creek to Grave Creek)
- Zone 3: Rogue River, upstream portion of the Recreation Section (Whitehorse to Hog Creek)
- Zone 4: Off-River Private Source Waterbodies
