Removal of Non-Native Species Work-Party Old Bridge Village Park (off Creekside Way on Rockfellow Place)
The City of Talent, along with Together for Talent, Friends of Wagner Creek, Friends of Bees and Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District (JSWCD) would like to invite you to a third work party focused on removal of more invasive species along Wagner Creek within the Old Bridge Village development. This project is funded by the JSWCD and is dependent upon volunteer in-kind labor for its success, so please invite all that you think may be interested. This is the second of a three part project which will include planting as many as 50 large and small shrubs, 6 trees and a lot of Willows and native grasses. We anticipate, the planting will happen in on March 26, 2016 from 10 AM – 2PM.
During the last work party we had nearly 50 volunteers that contributed more than 100 hours of volunteer time. This volunteer party will focus on a large 5,000 square foot area near Rockfellow Place and will focus on removal of blackberries and ivy.
This would be a great time to visit the park, located just off of Talent Ave (on Creekside Way), whether or not you wish to join the invasive species removal party. Volunteers are asked to bring shovel, rake, bucket, pruners and old newspapers, plus snacks and water.
Please park on Talent Avenue as there is very limited parking within the Old Bridge Village development. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Zac Moody at the City of Talent, 541-535-7401 or email@example.com.
